STEM Advantage has been a very important stepping stone in helping me reach my goals, and I am incredibly appreciative of all the ways this organization has pushed me toward success. Through mentorship, meetings, workshops, interview preparation, scholarships, and simply knowing there was always someone available to help guide me while planning my future, I gained confidence in myself and my career path.
Through STEM Advantage newsletters, I was able to find an internship opportunity, and the interview prep helped me improve my interviewing skills over time. Through workshops and company visits, including trips to Google, I was able to better envision a future for myself and discover the opportunities available in STEM careers. In the end, I was able to secure a full-time offer as an electrical engineer, and while I was initially hesitant and nervous about starting this next chapter of my life, I am now genuinely excited for this new opportunity. I also want to sincerely thank Beatriz, Jasmyn, and Lee Ann for all the support, guidance, and time they dedicate to helping young adults who are sometimes overlooked because of their background, financial situation, or the school they attend.
