Tania Velazquez

Program Manager for Mentorships and Talent Development

Tania Velazquez serves as the Program Manager for Mentorships and Talent Development, overseeing professional development, career panels, and leadership development initiatives. Previously, Tania spearheaded mentoring programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles. She holds a B.A. in Political Science and Advocacy & Social Change from Loyola University Chicago, with additional studies in Mexico City and Rome. Tania also holds a Master’s in Social Work from San Jose State University and is a psychotherapist in the State of California and Illinois.

With a strong commitment to holistic support, Tania is dedicated to program development and execution in youth and young adult empowerment, emphasizing diversity, equity, and inclusion, and mental health. As a first-generation Latina, she strives to create inclusive spaces for advancement. Tania’s passion lies in transforming the STEM Advantages scholar support model.  Tania’s objective is to elevate STEM Advantage’s mentoring program to be recognized as a leading practice.
